Quickfix: Skype first run on openSUSE 12.1

After installing Skype via the provided RPM from the web site, users might be surprised to find that using ALT+F2 and searching for Skype does display the telephony application.  The KDE Menu may also not display the application immediately.

Skype provides an RPM for installation on openSUSE systems.

Skype will not appear nor


This only occurs when running it for the first time.  Just select Run skype on the search results displayed in the command window.  Alternately, set up Skype for its first run by opening a Terminal and typing the command:

skype 

The Skype setup process will begin.  Afterwards, shortcuts, the KDE Menu, and the Command window will display the application.
