Since you paid so much for your iPad, why shell out even more money for a stand when you can use the gorgeous box the tablet came with?
To set up the iPad box as a stand:
1. Place the top part of the box underneath the lower part of the box. This makes the box stiffer than it already is.
2. Place the plastic tablet holder upright on the iPad box, the flat rear facing the side where you'll be placing your tablet.
3. Place a heavy object, such as a book or external desktop HDD, behind the plastic tablet holder to prop it upright. The following photo shows a 1TB Buffalo external hard drive supporting the stand.
This makeshift stand works better when placing the iPad horizontally but it can also support the iPad vertically as long as you add extra support to the rear. Now you can watch Mad Men without having to spend xxx dollars for an expensive stand!
