If you've been running openSUSE 12.2 via VirtualBox for some time and suddenly encounter an issue with openSUSE crashing while the system is booting up, check the Virtual Media Manager. openSUSE requires a slightly larger amount of free hard drive space to load the KDE desktop than say a Windows XP Professional guest. Even if you're guest openSUSE system is set up to dynamically allocate storage, it still may not load especially if you've updated the system or installed large applications recently.
